Hired Gun Teases New Web Series

father TimeIf you read our recent post about TV content moving to the Web you may have seen this coming.

Edmonton Writer/Director/Producer Ben Babchishin of Hired Gun Productions just launched the teaser for his forthcoming Web series “Father Time is a Bastard and Mother Nature is a Bit of a Bitch” and we were thrilled to edit and finish the production. Check out the video below and follow Ben’s links for updates.

“Father Time is a Bastard and Mother Nature is a Bit of a Bitch” is Hired Gun Productions first foray into content creation exclusively for the web. “Father Time is a Bastard and Mother Nature is a Bit of a Bitch”, is an 8 part web series based on our middle-aging demographic. “People who turn 50 aren’t dead, they are well seasoned and ready to embrace life” It is a comedic look at the Baby Boomer, we won’t grow older gracefully, we are fighting it tooth and nail. Through on the street interviews, expert opinion and some dramatic re-creations we unravel the mystery to age and explain why people 45+ are just saying NO to getting old. Okay, we don’t actually explain anything but we do discover what other people think about growing up.

The greatest discovery of our era wasn’t the iPad, it wasn’t the medical leaps and bounds, it wasn’t someone’s incredible humanitarian efforts, it was a little blue pill that helps middle aged men maintain an (you know what) for over 4 hours, any longer then that call a doctor.”

Viagra, cougars, mid-life crisis, all part of the new vocabulary and all have become defining elements of our generation.

“Father Time is Bastard and Mother Nature is a Bit of a Bitch” will start its run on the GunTV YouTube channel at the end of January.

Why Film in “Deadmonton”?

The city of Edmonton has developed the unfortunate nickname “Deadmonton”. Sometimes it refers to the murder rate, other times the quality of night life. Well now the moniker is being re-appropriated to promote our film industry and its expertise in the horror genre.

Studio Post was pleased to team up with the Edmonton Film Commission to produce a promotional video showcasing Alberta’s capital as a prime location for filming Horror movies and television.

The video feature excerpts from shows including Santa’s Slay, Decoys 2: Alien Seduction, Ginger Snaps Back, Ginger Snaps: Unleashed Fear Itself, Prom Night II and Freezer Burn.
